Trichinellosis is one of the most important parasitic zoonosis that affects more than 100 mammal species, including the human. The disease is spread worldwide, outbreaks of human infection being diagnosed on all continents. Romania is among the countries with the
highest prevalence of trichinellosis or animal Trichinella infection cases worldwide, both in the pig population or in the wildlife.

The conference will be organized by the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) in cooperation with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iuliu Haţieganu" Cluj-Napoca (UMF) under the umbrella of International Commission on Trichinellosis (ICT).
